I’ll Be Back Soon…

I just wanted to write a really quick post to let you know that I’m in the midst of a small blogging break while I finish up the tax season crunch (2 weeks left!)

Expect to see March’s income report, along with my regular weekly content, shortly after April 15th.

I hope everything’s going well with you.

64+ Easy Ways to Save Money Online

The internet marketing blogosphere spends a lot of time talking about how to make money online (and rightly so), but very little is said about ways to save money online.

Everything else held equal, saving $1 has the same effect on your bank account as earning $1.  Often times, the process of saving money can be “passive” just like income, in that you can make changes that have residual effects or recurring benefits.

My post about 142+ ways to make money online was so popular that I thought I’d do a similar one about saving money.  I put a lot of time into this post, so hopefully you will find it useful.

Top 7 Blog Posts I’ve Read in the Past Month

I don’t often do “round-up” posts, but every once in awhile, I come across a handful of killer articles/blog posts that I feel the need to share and comment on.

I’m guilty of “information overload,” as evidenced by the dozens of blogs I subscribe to in my RSS feed reader, but I can’t resist the urge to read an article that could potentially teach me something useful.

Anyway, here are the top articles/blog posts I’ve read in the past month (including my comments on them)…

7 Things That Annoy Me About Internet Marketers

Internet marketing as a whole is a pretty amazing phenomenon, if you can even call it that.  Few things in this world have allowed people with no experience or formal education to hop on a computer and make a living, sometimes without a ton of effort.  Low barriers to entry have allowed a diverse mix of people into this space, and while the stories of success stand out, most people don’t make it.

I’ll be the first to admit: I love internet marketing.  Even as someone who doesn’t make a lot from it (yet), it intrigues me. With that said, there are plenty of things that outright annoy me about internet marketers.   It’s not to say that these things are done by all internet marketers, but I’ve seen them more than once or twice.  Let me know if you agree…

Why Publishing Guest Posts Can Be a Bad Thing

If you look around, you’ll find hundreds of blog posts that talk about the benefits of writing guest posts for other people. Few people seem to talk about the pros and cons of actually being the publisher the guest posts.

It’s worth noting that certain blogs thrive on guest posts, and regularly utilize guest bloggers.  Other blogs seem to rarely publish guest posts (like me). Then of course, you have the blogs that are somewhere in the middle, and periodically publish guest posts, but not on any regular schedule.

But can it be bad to be the one who actually publishes guest posts?  I’ve decided to dig in a little bit deeper on this topic…

My Gift to You: Newbie Niche Site Month

Next week kicks off “newbie niche site month” – a month where I’m going to help those who are new to creating niche sites in a way that no one has ever helped someone before (at least, not for free).

There is a TON of information out there about niche research, keyword research, setting up a WordPress blog, monetizing it, etc.  People happily give away this information, especially when they can insert an affiliate link in every other sentence.  There’s nothing wrong with that (everyone, even the most respected bloggers, does it).

The one thing people almost never share are the results of that research – specific keywords and domain names that are available.  What I’ve found (just based on questions in e-mails that I’ve received) is that people have no problem learning the entire process and gathering all the necessary resources.  What people do have a problem with is that first step – finding a domain to build a site with, based on solid, fundamental keyword research.  And that’s going to be my gift to you this holiday season.
