THE Best Way to Figure Out Your Target Audience

When I was brainstorming a new site (which led to the creation of The Daily Interview), I spent a lot time thinking about target audience.

This is obviously one of the first things to consider when creating a new site or business. Without a target audience (or the right target audience), you could have the best idea in the world, and it could still easily fall flat.

OK, you get it. Target audience is important.

What I’m going to propose as THE best way to figure out your target audience is shockingly simple.

Finally Revealing My New Site…It’s Probably Not What You’re Expecting

I’m very excited to finally be able to launch and reveal my new site today.

Before I do, let me just say: Even though this site will be a significant project and require a ton of effort, it absolutely will not take the place of this blog here at My 4-Hour Workweek.

I will still be blogging here on a regular basis as I have been doing for the past four years. :)

Now, let’s get to the site…

The 30-Day “Epic” Blog Post Challenge

What I’m about to lay out in this post is my plan to not only build a new blog, but set it up so that it can essentially run on “autopilot” for an entire month.

Beyond that, it’ll be a blogging experiment within the concept of “batching” – a term made popular by Tim Ferris’s “The 4-Hour Workweek,” which I have written about at some length before (back when this blog was brand new, quite awhile ago).

I’ll define it here again, just in case you’re new to it:  Batching is the act of grouping together the performance of identical or similar tasks in order to, as a whole, complete the tasks quicker and more efficiently than if each task was performed separately at different times.

Now, let’s get into some more specifics.

An Update on Traffic, Earnings, & More [Authority Site Duel]

It’s been a long time since I’ve written an update dedicated to my Authority Site Duel site.

Although you may see my earnings (or lack thereof) in my monthly income reports, you don’t really get to see what’s happening behind the scenes.  Progress has been slow and steady, but continues to head in a positive direction.

Given the fact that my Slow Carb Diet Experiments site is in the health & diet niche,  I expected things to move rather slowly, but I’m still confident that I can continue to get the site to grow.

Here’s what’s been going on with the site…

Another Easy Way to Get Free Backlinks & Traffic to Your Authority Site

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving and were able to spend some quality time with family and/or friends.

Now, it’s time to get back to business. As you may remember, I recently wrote about how to get real backlinks for free, and I just wanted to share another strategy with you.

Like the strategy I linked to above, this isn’t some new and fancy link-building method that’s never been used before.  It’s a strategy that’s probably been around forever, and it still works.

The reason I’m writing about it today is because I’ve used it effectively for my authority site, and you can too. I’ll show you exactly how.

How to Use This Free Tool to Intelligently Optimize Your Site

It’s no secret that I’ve had some trouble with my authority sites so far.  I’ve crafted an attractive design (in my opinion), I’ve written a lot of high quality, original content, and I’ve done a fair amount of work to attract real backlinks.

Nevertheless, Google doesn’t seem to like my site.  At least, not yet.

Maybe you’re in the same boat as me, with your site.  A lot of work, not a lot of results.  I think it’s the most common scenario, despite all the success stories you read online (simply because the people who fail usually don’t write about it).

Anyway, I’ve been playing around with this awesome tool lately that has given me a lot of great insight, and the good news is, you can use it almost to its full potential without ever paying anything.  I’ll explain…
