Coming Soon to an Internet Browser Near You…

It’s my favorite time year.  Once you can look past the terrible Chicago weather, there’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and lots of time with friends and family.  I can’t really think of a better time to make some pretty drastic changes around this blog, so I wanted to write a quick post about what you can expect from me over the next few weeks.

There are some significant things coming soon, and you won’t want to miss them.

Coming Soon

1) The relaunch of “My 4-Hour Workweek” – Yes, you read that correctly.  I got so excited about my buddy Murray’s blog relaunch that I knew I had to somewhat follow in his footsteps.  The most immediate change will be a new theme and layout, but there will be a lot more to it than just that.  I’ll be providing more details once I officially “relaunch.”

2) My November passive income report – The reason I’m specifically highlighting this upcoming report right now is that November is shaping up to be my best month so far (by a large margin when compared to last month).  There’s still over a week left, so I can’t wait to see how the numbers shake out.

3) Vacation – I’ll be in Las Vegas during the second week of December.  This really doesn’t concern you at all, but I thought I’d share it anyway. :)

What does all of this mean?

First and foremost, none of these great upcoming events would be possible without all of the support I’ve received from the readers of this blog.  I am so grateful for it (and I can say that especially in the spirit of Thanksgiving).  Thank you.

Second, I ask that you please be patient with me over the next few weeks.  Depending on how badly I screw up WordPress, there may be some site downtime and you may see some random changes from time to time.  Also, with the holidays and my vacation in the mix, I may stray from the usual schedule of 2-3 posts per week.

There are a lot of great things to come, so please stay tuned, and have a happy Thanksgiving this week!

  1. Sounds very exciting Eric! Very interested to see what the new design looks like (You’ve changed your theme a few times haven’t you?).

I’m also looking forward to seeing your November report. It may give me an idea of what to start doing ;)

I’m excited too! I’ve been with this theme ever since I switched to WordPress, though my theme was different back when I was using Blogger. Thanks for the comment, Jay.

  2. Awesome stuff Eric – I do like the look of the blog now but having done the change recently on my own blog I can say that it really gives you a ton of energy because it feels like you’re getting over a major hump – really puts you in a great mindset.

As for the holiday’s and the vacation – Las Vegas would be boss! Hope you have a great time out there and during the holiday’s.

Thanks Murray – I’m really excited about the change, and definitely agree that it gives you a ton of energy. I feel like I have room to grow now.

Have a great time in New Orleans!

  3. Eric – great to hear re: the new theme. I was totally thinking that a new theme would be good for you the other day (meant to email you), but clearly you’re already on top of it.

Also, as a friendly suggestion, I’d def be interested in reading a post on how the theme update process went and any tips / tricks you have. I’ve been thinking about doing one for Viv, so would be cool to hear.

    Enjoy vegas,

Great suggestion. I’ll definitely be writing a detailed post about the whole change (what I changed, why I changed) in addition to what I’m planning for the future. While this blog is still going to have the same general focus, there are a few things I’m going tweak, I think. Thanks Dinesh.

  5. Love the new look.

I’ll just miss you in Vegas…that’s too bad, I would have loved to meet up. I’m there all the time (it’s where my girlfriend grew up). In fact, I’ll be there for Thanksgiving.

Anyway, eager to check out how well you did this month. Enjoy the vacation time.

Thanks Jason! Yeah, that’s too bad we won’t be in Vegas at the same time. I’m actually out there quite a bit visiting my dad (who has partially moved out there) so maybe we’ll get another chance to meet up.

I’m just as excited as you to see the income report for November, because I honestly don’t know yet exactly how the numbers will turn out!

  7. Hey Eric,

Nice facelift! I just went through the same thing a few weeks ago, and I was a little concerned about screwing up WP… luckily nothing too bad happened… I’m looking forward to your November wrap up!

    Happy Thanksgiving

  8. A trip to Vegas a few weeks after having a record month of passive income? That’s some good timing there. Maybe December’s will be rocking ahead of November in time for Christmas shopping?

I’ll echo some of the previous comments about a site redesign = increased energy. I noticed that on my site when I changed something, I felt compelled to write more for it. With some other side projects, just playing with the design of a site gets me motivated to write content for it, too.

Hopefully I won’t blow it all in Vegas. :)

The redesign seems to do wonders for increasing your energy and motivation. I have so many posts in my mind that I want to write about, so it’s all going to be a matter of finding the time to get them down on “paper.” As they say, variety is the spice of life. Thanks for the comment, James.

  9. Hey, just discovered your site off of Productive Flourishing. I’m looking forward to hearing your income report and seeing what you have done so far to make money. This is something I want to get down pat as we enter the new year.

  10. Good luck! Are you hiring out or doing the work on your own?

    [Reply]

    Eric G. Reply:

Hey Amanda – For the site design, I’m trying to do most of it myself (the frugal way :) ). Because I think I make lousy logos, I will probably try to hire a professional to redesign the one I made.

  11. Great stuff! Keep up the good work you’re doing on the site redesign.

    Nice work.
