I Just Tried Market Samurai – Wow.

I’ve never been so compelled to recommend a product right after trying it for only a couple days.  Recently, I downloaded a free trial of Market Samurai.

This isn’t one of those limited-function trials and it’s not one of those where you have to put in a credit card number and remember to cancel it before they charge you.  It’s a full use trial, and all you have to do is provide you basic name and e-mail information to download the software and give it a try.  That’s exactly what I did.

Here is what Market Samurai does…

  • Allows you to research keywords like never before (and you thought Google’s keyword research tool was helpful – this software features a more powerful version of that).
  • Find out exactly how competitive each keyword is, down to some very fine detail (e.g. showing you exactly why the sites on the first page of Google are there).
  • Identifies trends with various keywords and key phrases.
  • Determines the best available domain name to get based on the keywords you want to target.
  • Much more (there are several features I haven’t even tried out yet).

All of the above features are critical if you want to be successful with any kind of online site or blog that will rely on organic (search engine) traffic.  This is really the only tool you need to make sure you don’t waste time trying to target keywords or niches that are far too competitive, while also finding niches and keywords that are untapped.

One thing that really caught my attention is the level of support and guidance the creators of Market Samurai provide through videos that they post.  When I first opened the software, the features on the main menu were a bit overwhelming and I wasn’t sure where to begin.  I decided to watch some of their “how to” videos (these are free with the trial) and wound up watching 7 videos that were extremely helpful.  After playing with the software for a few minutes after that, I started grasping how it should be used and really saw the potential with it.

Here are all of the support videos they offer, in case you’re wondering (there are a lot!):

After using the free trial for a couple of days, I’ve already gone ahead and purchased the full version because I can tell that this is going to be a tool I will use on a regular basis.  You get a pretty significant discount if you purchase the full-version within the first five days of the trial, so this was a no-brainer for me.

What I’m going to try to do is come up with a case study using Market Samurai and show you how to get an article (that I will probably write on Info Barrel or Squidoo) onto page 1 of Google for a keyword that has decent traffic.  I’m excited to get started.  Once I get the chance to use all of the software’s features and master them, I promise I will post a more detailed review.

If you want to play around with the software and learn it yourself in the mean time, click here and try a free trial of Market Samurai. If you already use it, I’d love to hear what you think about it.

Yeah, it’s great. I thought it was going to be another tool that is useful “in theory,” but this one actually delivers.

  2. That sounds very interesting Eric. Do you forsee yourself using the purchase version in the future. Meaning, have you found enough value in what it can do for you to justify the price?

    Eric G. Reply:

Absolutely. I honestly can’t see starting a niche website or writing an article without this software, from now on.

  5. Eric – I feel like I did almost the exact same thing as you. Did you hear about market samuai from Pat? I dled about a week back and bought the full version early just as you did because I knew almost immediately that this was going to be a tool I use everyday. I’ve already gotten some serious pickup on keywords because of it – it’s just so good. Look forward to checking out your case study.

Thanks for the comment, Dinesh. I had actually heard about Market Samurai awhile back, but wasn’t compelled to purchase it until Pat wrote about it. It’s really exciting to see what this software can do. My first guide showing an effective use of the software should be up sometime next week.

Hey Dome – Yep, Market Samurai is definitely an awesome tool. I haven’t yet come up with an actual guide to using it, although I have explained how I use it for writing articles (which you can read in my “How to Make $2,000 a Month…” article. I’m not sure how Pat is, you’ll have to visit his blog and ask him yourself. :)

Thank you, Eric, for this great blog! My rss feed is overflowing with similar blogs but I have found your content to be a notch above the rest. You are definitely setting an example, at least in my mind.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I try my best to provide high quality content whenever I can. By the way, I like your blog too. You have a pretty impressive portfolio of oil pastels.

  10. Completely agree. I tried it for our website and we’re already on the 1st page of google for our most imp keyphrase. Loved it so much that we went ahead and bought the paid version immediately.

Only downside is that it gives details of a max of 1000 backlinks in the seo competition module. Hate that!

  11. I recently purchased Market Samurai myself – was a major investment at this stage of the process.

Still, it’s been less than a week since I got it, and I’ve seen traffic double to my ecommerce site, just through keyword research and optimization. If I do nothing else, it will have paid for itself by month’s end.

That’s awesome to hear – the software really is amazing, and I still find myself using it almost daily. Hope to hear some great success stories from you soon!

  12. You’re definitely correct, Market Samurai is a superb seo product; I always use it in researching for profitable keywords in my amazon site;
I do have a question – can you also use market samurai in a blog that do not focus on a single niche, say for example, a “personal blog” that tackles various topics? i’ve learned through Market Samurai tutorials that you have to focus on a single niche to maximize its use, but how can I implement this in a blog that focuses on various topics?

Nice blog by the way; you now have a follower here 😀 Godbless!

    Eric G. Reply:

I absolutely think you can use Market Samurai on a personal blog that covers various topics. Market Samurai is powerful to use in researching niches and coming up with target keywords for a given website, but you can also use it to come up with blog post tiles.

For example, let’s say you want to write about your favorite action movies in 2010. Without any research, you might simply come up with the title “My Favorite Action Movies in 2010.” However, if you use Market Samurai, you may find that there really aren’t any keywords in that title that receive traffic.

What you may find is that the keyword “best action movies 2010” DOES receive good traffic, so you take that information and rename your title to say “Best Action Movies in 2010 from My Perspective” or something like that. You obviously still want a compelling title that makes people WANT to read the post, but you can see how doing a quick Market Samurai search can help you come up with a title that’s more likely to receive searches, and subsequently, traffic from the search engines.

Thanks for the comment, and I hope that answers your question!
